Floofy and Frootbat Friday

Lookie, lookie... Brainball's washin my ears again! And I'm not gonna whap him this time. I love Brainball. He's such a superduper big bruther. He's not only fun to play with but he's also a great ear washur, and he's great to snooze with, too... he's like a big floofy pillow.

And here's Dorydoo as a Frootbat! Doesn't she make a cute Frootbat? (Ackshually she looks kinda like an owl in this pickshure, but deffinitely frootbatty, too.)

And guess what... it's Febrooary 29! That means it's Leap Day, a day that comes around only once efurry four years! Happy Leap Day, everybodies -- and cellybrate by makin a super-kool LEAP!

Silly Saturday... and an Award!

So me and Dorydoo are snoozin togethur onna recklinur. And yeah, that's still my Momma's fleecy shirt we Ballicai are sleepin on. She left it there fur us, and it's our sleepie shirt now, hehe.

Anyhows, I gotted in a really funny sleepin pozishun, and Dorydoo sez, MaoMao, you look silly.

So here's what I saided to Dorydoo... I gaved her the raspberry!

And guess what... Mickey the Black Cat awarded us Ballicai the Great Blog Awardie! Thankies so much, Mickey -- you and yur sisturs have got a great, inspiring bloggie, and we Ballicai are so honored to receive this awardie from you!

I'm givin this awardie to my sweetiepie Ariel, Dorydoo's givin it to her sweetiepie Earl Grey and alla the Furry Kids, and Brainball's givin it to his sweetiepie Patches Lady and the Calico Girls!

Storytime

Momma wroted a new short story, and it's got two kitties in it!

Here's an eckserpt:

Hucklesby and I are out for our twilight walk up the mountain. Will I see Moonlight this time?

Today isn’t a good day for me. It’s Valentine’s Day, a day which brings, unbidden, images of what my life might have been, if only I’d made better decisions as a younger woman.

Regret, however, is a bitter companion. I prefer cats.

Like Hucklesby. A gray cat the color of twilight on a misty day. Though I might have been accompanied by other cats on my road not taken, none of them would have been my Hucklesby. He lives with me in my cabin in the woods but comes along on my twilight walks and never runs astray.

Go here to read the rest: "Moonlight's Gift."

Enjoy!

Fleecy Friday

Four days ago, Momma putted her fleecy shirt inna reckliner. And we Ballicai quickly claimed it in the name of catdom! We love it. It's so fleecy and warm and cozycomfy!

Here I am, all snuggled up on it... oh, Momma... please don't efur move yur fleecy shirt off the reckliner! It's the bestest place to sleep!

Brainball agrees. Whenefur he sleeps on Momma's fleecy shirt, he snores so loud he sounds like he's sawin logs.

Dorydoo loves it, too! She's made it her new most favrit washing spot.

Brainball and Dorydoo love to sleep onna fleecy shirt togethur.

Momma doesn't want to move that shirt off the recklinur, cuz we Ballicai enjoy sleepin and hangin out on it so much. Have we got her well-trained, or what?

Just so you know, Momma, you're nefur gonna get to wear that shirt again cuz it belongs to us BALLICULES... it's gonna stay inna recklinur for a bazillion-sqwillion years, hehe!

Catching Up: Memes and Awardies, and Purring for Maobert and Annie!

We Ballicai have got some catchin up to do! Let's see, first of all, my great furriends Stormie and the kitties at Artsy Catsy awarded me the You Make My Day Awardie. I'm furry, furry honored on both kounts! Stormie is a wunnerful kitty gurl, super-brave and currageous. Her bloggie makes our day, and she's an inspirashun to efurrykitty! And the Artsy Catsy kitties make our day, too -- they are kreative and so much funsies -- and such a wunnerful and beeyootiful kitty fambly!

The You Make My Day Awardie is presented to bloggers whose blog brings you happiness and inspiration and makes you feel happy about Blogland. The rules are to pass the award along to up to 10 people (kitties!). So I pick:

My sweetiepie Ariel
My great furriend, sistur and fluffcuz Gretchen
Caesar and Prinnie
The Furry Kids (Titus, Tazo, and Earl Grey)
Jeter Harris
The Piney Woods Gurls (four of 'em!)

=-=

And yay, I gotted anothur awardie, this one frum my new Snowshoe Meezer great buddy, Java! Kool Beanies! It's the Thinking Blogger Awardie.

Here are the rules fur the Thinking Blogger Awardie:

1. You must write a post with links to 5 blogs that make you think.

2. Acknowledge this post.

3. Optional: Proudly display the 'Thinking Blogger Award' with a link to the post that you wrote.

4. Go tell your humans to fork over the treats!

hehe, Momma! FORK OFUR THE TEMPTAYSHUNS!

I'm gonna fudge the rules and pass the Thinkin Bloggur Awardie to alla the kitty bloggies onna Kitty Bloggiesphere, cuz efurryone's bloggies make me think, and make us Ballicai happy!

=-=

And now, Tesla, Java, and Chen & Ollie taggied me -- and Sparky Fuzzypants tagged my sistur Dorydoo -- for the Sevun Weird Things Meme! I'll do my meme, then Dorydoo will do hers.

Here's my (MaoMao's) answurs:

1. Efun though I have a loud MAO MAO MAO MAO, I purr quietly. You've gotta get real close to me to hear me purr, and there's hardly any rumble to my purr at all. It's real smooth, real soft. Momma hears it when she kisses me.

2. I dig real real real real fast inna littur boxie. It's as if I'm tryin to win a speed-diggin kontest.

3. I love playin in and sleepin in boxies. It's so much fun! Alla us Ballicai love boxies, but I think I love 'em most of all.

4. Of all the Ballicai, I'm the most likely to want hooman food, but I can't eat it much 'cause I've got a touchy dijestive system (poos and fartsies if I eat stuff that don't agree with me). DAGNABBIT!!!!

5. My newest favrit place to hang out is up on toppa the fridgerator! It's nice and high up, and it's warm up there, too. Here's what Momma calls my Regal Manly Meezer Pose.

6. When we Ballicai eat our stinky goodness, I let Marilyn or Dorydoo move in on mine if they really, really want it ('course then I move in on Brainball's stinky goodness, and usually, he lets me!).

7. I love love love Super Skratchurs. Not only do I love skratchin on 'em, but I love sleepin on 'em (and them toothie marks aren't mine -- Brainball likes to chew onna Super Skratchurs!)!

And here are Dorydoo's answers:

1. I'm crazy about purr pads. Purr pads are the BEST! They are so comfy -- I especially love the purr pad on the bedroom dresser.

2. Though I am the smallest of the Ballicai, I have the loudest purr. Brainball's purr is the rumbliest (he sounds like a lion), but my purr is the loudest!

3. Being a House Panther, I am a Stealth Kitty. I delight in being hard to find. I am the only Ballicus who doesn't necessarily come when called. And I love playing peek-a-boo!

4. I am very, very, very smart. All us Ballicai are smart; however, Mom says I am the smartest kitty she's ever met. I can figure out how to do pretty much anything for which I don't need opposable thumbs, and I'm trying to figure out how to grow those. Look out, world!

5. I have an "owl look." My "owl look" makes Mom say SQUEE every time. Check it out. Don't I look like an owl?

6. I am an athletic acroCAT -- I'm so good at jumping, it's as though I can fly. Mom and Dad call me an arboreal kitty. It's like I walk on air. And it means I can get absolutely anywhere I want to. Y-Y-YES!!!

7. I drink out of the bathroom sink. I sit on its edge and look at Mom, asking her to turn on the water for me. When she does, I get down in the sink and lap at the stream as it's coming out of the faucet, as though it were a water fountain. And oh, those squares on the side of the sink? Daddy put those there to help us Ballicai jump up, so we won't slip. Well, I never slip -- perish the thought!! -- but my siblings would, if it weren't for the strips *grin!*

For the Seven Random Things meme, we Ballicai tag anykitty who wants to play!

=-=

MaoMao here again... Oh no, we just got wordies that Skeezix's big brothur Maobert has been missin since Wednesday.

We are purrin and purrayin with alla our might fur Mao's safe return ASAP, and our hearts go out to his fambly!

My heart goes out to Mao's whole fambly and espeshully to Skeezy, cuz I just kan't imagine how horrible it would be fur my big bruther, Brainball, to go missin. Big bros are just so preshus and so speshul!

Beeyootiful Cards from Adan, Gretchen and Mike!

Dang, Momma's been slow on the uptake helpin us blog -- but we've gotted some beeyootiful Christmas cards, and I told Momma if she didn't let us blog about 'em, I'd sharpen my clawsies on her BUTT!

Here's the card Adan and Michico sent -- wowie kazowie, Adan, that's a superduper pickshure of you! And what a sweet card. Thankies so much -- you two are wunnerful furriends, and we appreshiate you!

Lookit, here's a card frum Gretchen and Mike the Mysterious! Inside the card is a preshus poem about mousies and lizzards. Oh yeah, we kitties really oughta be nice to mousies and lizzards. Espeshully when Santy Paws is watching.

Mike! Buddy! Is that you??? It's great to see you! You're gonna have to telleport back ofur and visit with us Ballicai again sometime -- we really enjoyed yur visit!

And Gretchen! Great-furriend-sister-cuz! That's a superduper pickshure of you. I feel like we're hangin out onna perchie togethur. Thankies to you and Mike fur the pawesome card. We Ballicai love it, and yur pickshures, too!

Here's a video that Momma tooked of Brainball and Dorydoo snugglin togethur on the bed. More kitty yawns! hehe

And though we'll hopefully get to visit around some, we Ballicai probably won't be able to do anothur bloggie post 'til aftur Chrissymouse.

So we wanna wish everybody a wunnerful and happy holiday season, and we wish you the bestest of Happy New Years in 2008! Love and purrs and kittyhugs to you all!

Snuggly Saturday

Momma grinned from ear to ear when she took this pickshure. Why? Well, cuz we're all layin onna bed togethur, and she thought we looked so cute. We made her say SQUEE!

It isn't often that all four of us lay onna bed togethur. Brainball and me snuggle a lot, and me and Brainball and Dorydoo are often all togethur, but usually Marilyn's off doin her own thingie.

But this time, all four of us Ballicai were sleepin inna same space!

Tell a Story Tuesday

Momma wroted a short story about me! It's a speckulative story about how I showed up at their housie as a stray kitty last year.

Here's an eckserpt:

“C’mon, Bandit! Get it!” Mitchell cried.

The boy moved the drinking straw slowly over the carpet in his bedroom, and Bandit pounced on it, used his paws to flip it into his mouth, then he ran off down the hall and into the bathroom. Mitchell and Maggie laughed, and as they called him back, he heard them move a second straw across the carpet.

Oh boy, oh boy! Another straw. Bandit ran back into the bedroom and pounced on it. He loved playing with the kids. He was a kid himself. Well, a kitten. Five months old. Batting the straw in the air, he saw his Cat Momma curled on Mitchell’s bed. She smiled and twitched her whiskers as she watched him.

“Good job, son,” she said. “You’re a fine hunter.” Bandit knew she meant it. Though he had two brothers and a sister, he was her favorite. His brothers and sister didn’t live here anymore. They’d gone, as the Woman Person had said, to new homes.

The kids couldn’t understand much of what Momma Cat said. They didn’t speak Cat. They couldn’t understand much of what he, Bandit, said to them, either, even though he talked to them a lot, but some things they understood. They understood because they loved him. And he loved them. They were, all three, great buddies.

Mitchell and Maggie’s mother, the Woman Person, was a different flavor of kibble. Bandit didn’t hang around with her much. He preferred the kids, or his Cat Momma, who wrestled with him and still loved to groom him. His Cat Momma was gentle and sweet, unlike the Woman Person who was always getting mad about something. Bandit would be happy if the Woman Person didn’t live here at all, but he figured Mitchell and Maggie needed her, the way he’d needed his Cat Momma when he was little.

Kids seemed to grow up slower than kittens, Bandit thought.

The Woman Person was home today. She spent a lot of time out of the house, and the kids did, too. The Woman Person went to something called “work”; the kids went to something called “school.” But today was one of the days they were all home.

As Bandit flipped the second straw up into his mouth and bit it, he heard the Woman Person’s footsteps. Uh oh. He hoped she wouldn’t fuss at him. He decided he’d just keep playing. Playing was fun.

The Woman Person came in and sat down on Mitchell’s bed, next to Momma Cat. “I’ve got some bad news.”

Mitchell plucked the straw from Bandit’s paws as Maggie watched. “What?”

“We’ve got to get rid of Bandit.”

As you can see, Momma kleaned up my spellings and my grammers some, ecksept I nefur can see why she sez they need "cleaning" *sheesh*. Anyhow, you can go here to read the whole thing: "Bandit". I hope you like it!

Napping in the Laundry

Me and Brainball and Dorydoo love nappin' togethur inna laundry, fresh from the dryer. Momma lays it out onna bed fur us, and we settle down and get nice and cozy.

Here's me and Brainball, from my side (I'm dreamin' about Sweet Ariel)...

And here's me and Brainball (or King Leonidas, as Momma's nicknamed him these days!), from his side (he's dreamin' about Patches Lady, and he's really glad that today's his last day of meds)...

And here's Dorydoo, all curled up and wavin' to Earl Grey -- see her little paw paddies? She had a great time strollerin' with him yesturday!

Have a great Friday, everykitty! We love you! We won't be bloggin' again until Monday -- Momma's got catchy-uppy work to do, to where she's gotta hog OUR computer (ptooey!) -- but we'll be back with a Meezer Mancat Monday Post, and we'll be visitin' yur bloggies in the meantime! We hope everykitty has a superduper weekend.
