It's Memorial Day weekend, and this past Thursday marked the sudden passing of one of the Cat Blogosphere's brightest lights, precious Bonnie Underfoot. Our hearts go out to Bonnie's family. She was deeply loved -- will always be deeply loved -- and will be sorely missed.

Thank you, Zoolatry, for the beautiful graphic.
Here's one of Mom's favorite poems about kitties going to the Bridge. Whenever she reads it, she cries and cries, then she goes around to us Ballicai and hugs and kisses us, one after the other.
And God asked the feline spirit
Are you ready to come home?
Oh, yes, quite so, replied the precious soul
And, as a cat, you know I am most able
To decide anything for myself.
Are you coming then? asked God.
Soon, replied the whiskered angel
But I must come slowly
For my human friends are troubled
For you see, they need me, quite certainly.
But don't they understand? asked God
That you'll never leave them?
That your souls are intertwined. For all eternity?
That nothing is created or destroyed?
It just is....forever and ever and ever.
Eventually they will understand,
Replied the glorious cat
For I will whisper into their hearts
That I am always with them
I just am....forever and ever and ever.

In honor of sweet Bonnie, it's Hugs Weekend on the Cat Blogosphere. We Ballicai send hugs to you, our friends, who brighten our days and make us smile, who touch us with your kindness and empathy, your courage and trials, with whom we hold paws through life's ups and downs.

Tell your loved ones, every day, how much you love them. From Robert Herrick's poem: "Gather ye rosebuds while ye may, Old time is still a-flying."
Love and hugs from me, Brainball aka King Leonidas aka Ballicus I...

Love and hugs from MaoMao...

Love and hugs from Dorydoo...

Love and hugs from Marilyn...

Life is infinitely, incomparably precious. Bonnie's sudden and untimely passing reminds us of that. Through all its trials, life is a gift... what a blessing to be alive to love and laugh, to sing and play, to rejoice and dance. Thank you, friends, for being out there. We Ballicai love all of you.
